Mientras Dormías is the 49th episode of the series. It translates to "while you were sleeping."

Summary

Teresa is unconscious after a car bomb and her closest allies must make difficult decisions without her.

**NOTE: The flashbacks presented in 4x11 and omitted here, whereby Teresa is seen at Tony’s birth and it is implied that she has lived with Guero for 10 + years till her escape to Dallas when Tony is 12 years of age are a liberty with the timeline taken by the production team of Season 4, which distorts the events as presented chronologically in the series. The producers have acknowledged the mistake. See Season 4 Media Section.

Plot

Hospital room in New Orleans

Teresa is in a coma after the explosion that killed Tony.

Pote says a prayer over Teresa and has a flashback of the explosion.

With Teresa out of commission, Pote must step up to the plate and make decisions, but Boaz comes to New Orleans to remind him that he actually has experience running a cartel. Boaz decides that he's stopping the shipments as of today, even though Pote says she wouldn't want that. Boaz says he'll be at Siete Gotas if anything comes up. Kelly Anne comments that that didn't look good. Pote says that Boaz is trying to take over and they need to watch their backs.

Kelly Anne brings Pote a sandwich and begs him to take a bite. He says that he isn't hungry. She tries to calm him down about Boaz and says that Teresa runs a tight ship and he can't screw it up that badly. Pote tells her that he shot his own brother in the head. When the nurse comes in, Pote yells at her because he found a piece of glass in her hair and that's unacceptable.

Randall Green visits Teresa's hospital room and speaks to Pote. He says that he wants to offer some assistance and has extra security downstairs. Pote says that he has it covered, but the Judge insists. Randall asks if he has any leads, and Pote says that he'll let him know. Happy to help, after all, we're partners.

Teresa's office in Siete Gotas

Boaz sits at Teresa's desk and gives Marcel a hard time when he asks how Teresa's doing, as he doesn't know Marcel and he's important to Teresa. Marcel asks if Teresa's still in the hospital and Boaz says maybe. Marcel reminds him that he's not the enemy, while Boaz says that enemies come in all shapes in sizes, they even come claiming to be friends. Marcel isn't in the mood for a pissing contest, he just wanted an update. Boaz says that he's not going to tell him shit, because for all he knows, Marcel tried to have Teresa killed.

Marcel:	You don't know me, son.
Boaz:	Son? Do I look like a boy, pendejo? I'm the one who gives orders.
Marcel:	Not in my city. Not to me. Ever.
Boaz:	Is that a threat?
Marcel:	Well, it's not a dinner invitation.
Boaz:	It's time for you to leave, cabrón.

Bar

Randall visits a bar to speak to a man who comments that he must have balls of steel to walk in there like that. They had had a deal - the Judge gets him out of jail and he kills the Mexican bitch. The girl didn't die, though. Randall wants him to finish the job . He has until the end of the day.

Hospital

Pote calls Oksana to tell her that Teresa was in an accident and she's in a coma but her godson was killed. Oksana says that it must have been El Gordo's people. He asks where his nephew Elias is but she doesn't know. She insists on her next shipment. Pote calls Chicho and asks him to take a shipment to Atlanta today without letting Boaz know. He agrees to do it. The man that set the bomb in Tony's Range Rover enters the hospital and takes a stray bouquet of flowers off a counter while looking for Teresa's room.

Kelly Anne talks to Teresa while she's in a coma. Neither she or Pote can believe that Tony is really gone.Javier confirms that the warehouse is secure. Pote is mad at him and asks if he knew that Boaz was in town. Javier says he didn't know, and Pote tells him not to lie and asks if they're planning something. Javier says that Boaz didn't call him. Pote says that Boaz thinks he's in charge now. Maybe he's trying to help. Pote says that he stopped all the shipments and has men at the bar so he knows how that looks. Javier offers to talk to him. Marcel visits Pote and Javier outside of Teresa's hospital room, saying that he hasn't known Teresa for a long time but he knows that she's a fighter and that she'll get through it. Any word on who's responsible? Javier says that he thinks it was El Gordo's men that did this to her.

Dumas says that he met Boaz and he even accused him of trying to kill Teresa. He seems like a guy who's waiting for his turn at the throne. Maybe he hit your boss. Javier tells him to be careful of who he accuses because that's his cousin. Marcel means no offense, family is family. Javier says that Marcel is trying to pit them all against each other. Pote reminds him that this is business and Javier is making it personal. Pote tells him to leave, apologizing to Marcel.Sorry about that. It's a family full of hotheads. Marcel says it's okay, but they need to get rid of Boaz before he gets allies. Pote says that Teresa wouldn't approve a hit on Boaz. Marcel doubts that she would want him sitting in her place. You call the shots now, Pote. Marcel offers to make a quick move, he just needs the green light.

Hospital parking lot

The man places a rag over the nurse's mouth and tells her not to scream.

Siete Gotas

Javier goes to the bar to confront Boaz, saying they need to talk. Boaz throws Emilia's necklace at him and aims his gun at him, saying that they do need to talk about Emilia.

Hospital

Pote says that Javier isn't answering his phone. Pote doesn't know who to trust anymore. Kelly Anne tells him to trust Teresa because she has good judgement.

Road

Chicho is driving a Salerno semi truck to deliver a shipment of cocaine to Oksana for Pote when Elias and his men release tires into the road and fire on them. The semi's tires pop and Chicho is shot. One of Teresa's men burns to death after being attacked with a flamethrower. Chicho runs for it while he screams.

Elias, El Gordo's nephew, burns the shipment.

Hospital

Pote can't get ahold of Javier on his phone. Chicho hasn't been answering either. Kelly Anne suggests that he call Javier and hopes that Javier and Boaz are working out their issues, cousin to cousin, but Pote says that's not happening.

Siete Gotas

Boaz's men hold Javier up as Boaz beats him. He tells Javier that Emilia called him and that she was coming to Mexico so they could be together, but she never showed up. He'd been hiding here there this whole time. He thinks Javier didn't want Boaz to have her so he killed her. Boaz demands to know where she's buried. Javier tells him that he didn't do it. Boaz pushes a gun under his chin and says that no one lies to him twice.

Car outside the hospital

The man Randall hired to kill Teresa gets into a car and speaks to his girlfriend about how to get into Teresa's hospital room. He hands her an ID card and the nurse they kidnapped is shown in the back of the car. No one ever suspects the nurse.

Hospital

A doctor tells Pote and Kelly Anne that she's decided to take Teresa off of sedation. The next 24 hours are going to be critical. Pote asks if that means that she's going to wake up soon. She says that it's hard to predict and it's up to her how fast she can recover from the drugs. Pote yells that he needs her to wake up now. Kelly Anne apologizes to the doctor and thanks her.

Pote blames himself for what happened. She trusted me with her life, and I failed her. Kelly Anne says that he didn't fail Teresa but she needs him now more than ever.

Allison, the girlfriend of the man that's meant to kill Teresa, sneaks into the hospital storage and takes a vial of diazepam and a vial of morphine, as well as some syringes.

Oksana calls and asks where her shipment is. Pote says that it should have arrived by now. Oksana wants to know where Teresa is because she would never let this happen and says maybe she should send her men down there to run things because he obviously can't do it. Pote says no, he'll make some calls. You better.

He calls Chicho and leaves him a voicemail. His call to Javier goes to voicemail too. I always thought I'd take a bullet for her, but I never thought I would take her place. Kelly Anne asks if she missed something while she was sleeping. Pote tells her that Oksana missed her shipment and Chicho and Javier aren't answering their phone. She asks if he thinks Boaz has anything to do with it. He says that Boaz is crazy enough to. He just doesn't know what to do. She instructs him to quiet his mind and just breathe for a second. I'm not a hippie. She laughs and says no, her AA sponsor taught her this. Ay, gabacha. I can't keep sitting around doing nothing. I need to make a decision. She says that he needs to tune the noise out and go with his gut; it's gotten him this far.

He suggests reasoning with Boaz like Teresa would, but quickly decides that's ridiculous because Boaz is crazy. No one can reason with him, not even his family.

Pote calls Dumas and asks if the offer is still on the table. Marcel confirms it, so Pote tells him to put his men in place. Boaz needs to go.

Hospital

Allison brings Kelly Anne chamomile tea for Pote. Kelly Anne tells him that the cute nurse out there just made him a cup of tea and gives it to him. She jokes that she thinks the nurse has a crush on him. He hums appreciatively and says that chamomile is his favorite.

Siete Gotas

Javier spits blood on the ground, telling Boaz to listen to him. He sent Emilia away for her own safety. Boaz asks why Emilia would be in danger. Javier admits that he thought that the police were about to catch him after they killed those two men. He told Emilia what happened and she left for good. He never heard from her again. He thinks that she's better off without them and that this is no life for her and never was.

Marcel's place

Marcel tells his men that he's running point on this one. He tells them to move.

Hospital

Pote falls asleep at Teresa's hospital bedside after being drugged by Allison. Kelly Anne realizes that something is weird about Teresa's "nurse" and follows her out into the hallway. When Allison runs, Kelly Anne chases after her and they fight in the stairwell. Kelly Anne gets kicked in the face and knocks out.

Allison comes back to take another shot at Teresa, but Pote wakes up in time to stop her from injecting something into her IV. Pote takes out the IV and yells for Luis. Teresa's men escort Allison out of the hospital. She passes her boyfriend, Victor, on the way, who grabs some flowers off of a counter and walks toward the hospital room.

Teresa's mouth shakes in her coma as a flashback begins. Teresa wakes with tears in her eyes, much to Pote's amazement. She inhales sharply and tries to take out her breathing tube, but he stops her.

Crime scene

One of Randall's men tells him that Mendoza is still alive and Victor is in the wind. A police officer tells him that one of the victims is Hector Fernandez, who has a long rap sheet for running drugs in Miami.

Siete Gotas

Javier asks Boaz what he's doing. Boaz slices open his and Javier's palms and makes a blood pact to never let a woman get between them again. Javier asks him if he's there to take Teresa's business and he says, no, that he's Teresa's soldado, and he's at peace with it. She's the queen, and a badass .

Hospital

Chicho calls Pote and tells him that Elias hit the truck and the shipment's gone. They knew they were coming. Pote tells him that he'll send someone to pick him up.

Marcel gets a call from Pote, who says that he's calling it off. Marcel is confused, saying that they're almost at the bar and they'll be blindsided. Teresa's awake. I have to get back to her.

Teresa wakes up and says that they're going to kill them all.
